A New Project /// Ampersand 365

Big news guys! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you already know… I’m doing a new project called Ampersand 365. Here’s a little overview:

Throughout the course of 2018, I’ll be creating one handmade ampersand per day for 365 days straight. I’ll be sharing each one in my Instagram stories, and I’m also saving them all to the highlights section of my profile (click on Ampersand 365) so you can see all of them at once. I’ll hashtag each of my creations with #ampersand365 so you can easily keep up with my progress, and at the end of the year I’m going to compile every single one into a video!

The goal for the project is to stretch my creativity a bit further everyday, both by coming up with 365 different ways to express a single symbol – and by trying new media and techniques that I haven’t used before. And by sharing this project with you, my hope is that you’ll be inspired to test your creative boundaries as well 🙂

In my mind, art is meant to be shared… so the other component of this project is to encourage you guys to get in on the fun too. So be sure to use #myampersand365 to share your own handmade ampersands! I’ll be posting my favorite readers’ ampersands in my stories.

I think it will be a challenge to follow through with something every single day for an entire year, but I’m up to the task. And bringing you guys along for the ride gives me some serious accountability. I’ve already had friends and family show me their ampersands, and people have been sending over ideas as well… and it makes me so happy to watch this little project bring people together over something as humble as an and symbol.
