Now, onto today's subject.... It's no secret that the motto above helps preserve our earth, but it could be beneficial to your home also. While browsing the local public library the other day, I happened upon a beautifully-photographed book called Recycled Home by Sally Bailey. The book offers many excellent ideas for improving the look of your home using everyday and vintage objects in unexpected ways.

Below are a few of my favorites:

I love love LOVE this idea - decoupage your
hangers. This is a great way to make them one color
which lends the appearance of an organized closet.

A fabulous juxtaposition of modern and
natural. Also, take a look at that salvaged
wooden box used to house utensils.

A cross between a piece of art and a wall covering.

Again with my recent couch obsession.
It looks nice with the whitewashed floors.

This would be really simple to make with
an old wooden ladder and a shallow box.

Come back and visit Design Fixation tomorrow for another edition of Guess Who (and by that I mean the most amazing closet I've ever laid eyes on).

  1. Thank you for sharing these images with us...some great ideas. I especially like what looks to be recycled floorboards behind that couch...has a vintage fence or tobacco barn feel to it. Like it! Keep up the good work on your blog!

  2. Glad you liked them... the book is filled with hundreds of photos that are equally as beautiful.
