{Good Taste} Red Stag Bourbon

I've been wanting to write about this one for a long time. Red Stag by Jim Beam. Would you just look at this beauty? Let's start with the art; antlers are big lately, so maybe that's why I'm drawn to them. And the designers could have easily used too much red here given the name of the booze, but it's not overdone. Lastly, the serif font compliments the antler motif perfectly. Here's my only question... why not red cherry when the name is Red Stag?

I once went to a party where you had to take two shots of Jim Beam to gain entry inside. Wish they had Red Stag back then. Any bourbon stories on your end?

How about this aptly-named recipe:

The Buck Shot
-1 Part Red Stag by Jim Beam™ Bourbon
-1 Part J├Ągermeister®
Shake equal parts Red Stag by Jim Beam™ and J├Ągermeister® ice cold into a shot glass.

  1. I noticed the label was red with yellow, one of your favorite combinations, too.

  2. It is indeed! Especially with some black and white mixed in....
