{Good Taste} Canton

Today’s edition of {Good Taste} features Canton, a ginger liqueur perfect for giving a mixed drink that extra dimension of flavor. Resident wine and spirits expert Big Moose introduced me to this indulgent liqueur, and now I must have it everytime I see it. Last weekend I went to Pops Restaurant in Boston’s South End and, lo and behold, there it was on the bar and I HAD to have it. The “Pear and Ginger Sparkler” turned out to be a good choice, as have most of the concoctions I’ve consumed that involve Canton. But I’ve come to realize that the packaging is what always draws me to it…. oh those curved lines… highlighted on each edge with a dark stripe…. It’s a sight for sore eyes.
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget the recipe (created by Yours Truly).
Ginger Green Tea Fizz
– 1 oz Canton
– 1 oz Grey Goose
– Canada Dry Green Tea Ginger Ale
Mix Canton and Grey Goose in a shaker and pour over ice. Top off with Green Tea Ginger Ale and garnish with a lemon twist. Cheers!
